The Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra at a Crossroads

The Hawai'i Symphony's inaugural Masterworks season closed with a flourish this past weekend.  Pianist Jon Kimura Parker displayed the skill, generosity, and depth of character that has made him a favorite in the Islands, and the Symphony responded in kind.  The Pops season continues with Jimmy Borges then three concerts in the Waikiki Shell, including a July 4th spectacular.  While audiences have been enthusiastic, a 2012-13 season has not yet been announced.  Here, Symphony Board Chair, Oswald Stender, explains why.
