Tinfish Press Tosses the Local Salad
Jack London is Dead: Contemporary Euro-American Poetry of Hawai'i (and some stories) is the new book from Tinfish Press, a local publication that seeks to bring together local and experimental writing together in Hawai'i. I love to talk with writers, because they have given thought to their world, usually. These writers have, and they've teased out many of the thorny issues around "belonging" in Hawai'i---something so many of us reassess continually. A window into Nebraska opens in the first conversation with Scott Abels, followed by Susan Schultz who is the founder of Tinfish and the editor of this collection. Jaime Gussman joined Susan and I, she organizes a gathering called "Mixing Innovative Arts", the 3rd Monday of the month, 7:30pm, at Fresh Cafe.
I hope this discussion is a springboard for many others!
